| On Friday June 26, relatives of Charles Bessey, inducted that afternoon into the Nebraska Hall of Fame, helped to plant a number of Prunus besseyi (Western Sand Cherry) west of the Maxwell Arboretum Prairie. |  |

| Fittingly, the plants came from the Bessey Nursery at the sandhills town of Halsey, Nebraska. |
